Recipes are but a guideline.  Be brave and try to change things up a bit with different spices, flavorings, etc.  

If you don't have the ingredients that I used, try another brand.  I am recommending the ones in the recipes because I really like them.

Pineapple Cole Slaw

(Vegan, SOS free, GF)


In a bowl:

1 head of cabbage, cut into thin slaw like pieces

1 cup julienned carrots, chopped a little

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1 cup finely shopped fresh kale

1 - 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple and it’s juice

In a blender:

Soak 6 pitted dates in 1 cup of water (10-15 min.)

Add:

Juice of 1 lemon

1 T. Lemon zest

1/2 cup *California Balsamic -Premium White Balsamic Vinegar

1/4 cup *California Balsamic - Lemon Balsamic

Blend until the dates are throughly mixed in (with as small of pieces as possible)

Pour over the slaw mixture and stir well

Refrigerate overnight or several hours

Stir well before serving

Garnish with additional chopped pecans, at time of serving

Strawberry Bean Salad

(Vegan, SOS free, GF)


2 mini cukes diced into small pieces

1/2 cup julienned carrots

1/2 cup green peppers diced into small pieces

1 cup strawberries chopped into small pieces

(Save a few strawberries to quarter for the garnish)

Drain and rinse in a colindar…..

1 - 15.5 oz. can of black beans

1 - 15.5 oz. can of pinto beans

1 - 15.5 oz. can of garbanzo beans

In a large bowl combine the above ingredients

Add:

1 tsp. Dry cilantro or 1/4 cup of fresh

1/4 cup + * California Balsamic Strawberry Blonde Balsamic

Garnish with the quartered strawberries and fresh cilantro

Chill

Eat as a salad, on wraps or collard leaves

The best Bean Salad you will ever eat!

Stuffed Pepper Soup

(Vegan, SOS free, GF)

In a large soup pot:

Start sautéing:

1 onion chopped

1/2 cup water

8 oz. Baby Bella mushrooms, chopped

While sautéing, add:

2 tsp. *Thrive freeze dried Garlic

1 cup julienned carrots, chopped a little smaller

2 T. *Thrive freeze dried Italian Herb (or your favorite Italian Herb blend)

1 cup chopped celery

1 cup chopped kale

1 cup chopped peppers

A little pepper

1 T. **California Balsamic - Premium Classic

1 T. **California Balsamic - 7 Herb

1 - 28 oz. can diced tomatoes (pureed in the food processor)

3/4 cup brown rice uncooked

2 dates

1 - 15 oz. can of white beans (pinto, navy, canelli, etc.)

4-5 cups water

Cook until the rice is tender

Hearty Bean Soup​

(Vegan, SOS free, GF)

Saute:

1/2 cup water

1 onion, chopped

1/2 cup celery, chopped

1/4 cup julienned carrots

Add:

1 T. **Local Spicery - Showstopper

1/2 tsp. **Local Spicery - Persian Lime Pepper

2 tsp. *California Balsamic - Sweet Heat

In a measuring cup:

1 cup water

1 T. ****Joi Almond Nut Base (Plant based milk paste) Stir with a whisk

Or add 1 cup plant based milk

3 - 15 oz. cans of organic navy beans

1/4 cup ***Thrive freeze dried kale

1 T. Cumin

Heat thoroughly or put in a crockpot for the day on low to stay warm

Stuffed Pepper Soup

(Vegan, SOS free, GF)


Saute in 1 cup of water, until tender:

1 chopped onion

1 cup chopped, julienned carrots

1 cup chopped celery

1 - 8 oz. package baby Bella mushrooms, sliced

1 cup chopped kale

Add: 2 T. ***Thrive Life - Italian Herb Spice (Or use a total of 2 T. Of your favorite Italian Herb seasoning)

1 T. *California Balsamic - Premium Classic

1 T. *California Balsamic - 7 Herb

2 tsp. ***Thrive Life - Minced Garlic.

A little pepper. (**Local Spicery - Persian Lime Pepper is also great)

(If you are still using salt- add a little)

Food process a 28 oz. can of diced tomatoes, then add

4 cups water

1 cup brown rice

2 pitted dates

Cook until the rice is tender

When re-heating, this is good also as a side because it is pretty thick

Quick & Tasty Beans

(Vegan, SOS free, GF)

Saute:

1/2 cup water

1/2 Chopped onion

1/2 cup Chopped peppers

1 cup sliced baby Bella mushrooms

Add:

1 - 15 oz. can drained kidney beans (any beans will work)

2 tsp. ***Thrive Life - Minced garlic

2 tsp. ***Thrive Life - cilantro

1 T. **Local Spicery - Showstopper

2 tsp. *California Balsamic - Sweet Heat

1 tsp. **Local Spicery - Sun Dried Tomato Powder

A little pepper

Sweet Potato Casserole

(Vegan, SOS free, GF)

In an Instant Pot:

1- 5 lb. sweet potatoes

12 pitted dates

1 cup water

1/4 tsp. **Local Spicery - Pumpkin Pie Spice

1 tsp. Vanilla

Pressure cook for 15 min.

Natural release

Mash and add:

1 T. *California Balsamic - Pumpkin Pie Spike

1/4 cup plant based milk (add a little more if needed)

Place in a glass oven dish

Topping:

Soak 8 pitted dates in 1/2 cup water (10-15 min.)

In a food processor:

Soaked dates (drained)

2 T. Of the date water

1/2 T.*California Balsamic Pumpkin Pie Spice

Process well then fold in:

1 cup finely chopped pecans

Sprinkle over the sweet potatoes

This is great to make ahead the day before to just heat up the day needed.

Heat until warm in a 350 degree oven (approximately 20-30 min.)

Chili Fries

(Vegan, SOS free, GF)


Cut up baked potatoes into fry pieces

Place in a bowl

Toss with:

2 T. *California Balsamic Cilantro Herb

2 tsp. **Local Spicery Chili Powder

1 tsp. **Local Spicery Persian Lime Pepper

Air fry at 400 degrees for 20 min.

Air Fried Veggies

(Vegan, SOS free, GF)

2-3 cups of your favorite veggies (or whatever is in the frig…..lol)

I used: Onion slices

Sliced mushrooms

Quartered brussel sprouts

Broccoli flowerets

Place in an air fryer at 400 degrees for 10 min.

In a blender: 1/2 cup water

6 pitted dates

Juice of 1 lemon

After well blended, add: 1 T. *California Balsamic Simply Lemon

1 T. *California Balsamic Ruby Red Onion

1 T. *California Balsamic Sweet Apple Pie

After the veggies have air fried for 10 min., pour veggies into sauce and toss them in the mixture

Roughly chop 1 cup of already slivered almonds Stir in almonds and toss

Return to the air fryer, 400 degrees for another 15 min., stirring a couple of times in between

Autumn Butternut Squash Soup

(Vegan, SOS free, GF)


In an InstantPot:

1 Butternut Squash (cut off stem, seed it, leave the skin on, cut into large chunks)

6 cups water

1 onion chunked

1 large clove of garlic

1/2 cup celery

1/2 cup carrots

4 pitted dates

1 T. *California Balsamic Ruby Red Onion

1 T. *California Balsamic Gilroy Garlic

1 tsp. **Local Spicery - Persian Lime Pepper

1 tsp. **Local Spicery - Pumpkin Pie Spice

1/2 tsp. *Local Spicery - Smoked Paprika

Pressure cook for 40 min.

Manual release

Blend with and immersion blender (or cool and blend in a Vitamix)

After dipping, garnish with a pinch of the **Local Spicery - Pumpkin Pie Spice

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

(Vegan & GF)

Pre heat oven to 325 degrees

Soak: 1 T. Ground flaxseed in 3 T. Water (set aside)

In a large bowl:

2 1/2 cup * Thrive Gluten Free Flour (or your favorite GF flour)

1/3 cup cocoa or cacao powder

1 1/2 tsp. Baking powder

1/2 tsp. Baking soda

Cream in a mixer:

3/4 cup vegan butter

3/4 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup granulate or raw sugar

2 tsp. Vanilla

Add: the flax/water mixture

Fold in the dry ingredients

Add a little plant based milk (I like **Joi Almond or Cashew milk) About 1/4 cup

With floured fingers:

Make walnut sized balls and roll in confectioner’s sugar

Place on  silicone or parchment paper lined cookie sheets

Bake at 325 degrees for 10-12 min,

Take out of the oven when then look like they are a little under baked, that is the secret to a soft and chewy cookie

Place on a cooking rack to cool

Strawberry Oat Bites

(Vegan, SOS free, GF)

Pre heat oven to 350 degrees

Soak 8 pitted dates in 1/2 cup plant based milk (set aside)

In a food processor:

Pulse 1 cup rolled oats until a coarse-like flour texture

Add to the flour like oats:

1 banana (very ripe)

1 T. Vanilla

1 T. *California Balsamic Strawberry

2 tsp. Baking powder

Add: The soaked dates with the milk/process until well mixed

In a separate large bowl: Mash with a wooden spoon:

1 cup freeze dried strawberries to smaller pieces (***Thrive Life is great!)

Add:

1 T. Chia seeds

1 1/2 cups whole rolled oats

Stir the food processed ingredients into the bowl of dried strawberries, chia seeds and whole rolled oats, stir well (Do not food process the ingredients anymore. This will give it a nice chewy texture.). Stir well.

Drop into mini cupcake or brownie bite size pans (silicone is best-no oil needed)

Bake in a pre heated 350 degree oven for 20 min., check for doneness with a toothpick coming out clean

Let them sit a few minutes until cool, they come out of the silicone better

If you would like, to serve, you could drizzle with the *California Balsamic Strawberry

This is a delicious, healthy, vegan, sos free, tasty treat!!!

Blueberry Bites

(Vegan, SOS free, GF)

Pre heat oven to 350 degrees

In a food processor:

Pulse 1 cup rolled oats until a coarse-like flour texture (set aside)

Soak 8 pitted dates in 1/2 cup plant based milk (set aside)

In a food processor:

1 banana (very ripe)

1 T. Vanilla

1 T. *California Balsamic Blackberry

2 tsp. Baking powder

Add: Date and milk mixture, pulse

Add: Processed oats, pulse until thoroughly mixed

Pour into a bowl and fold in:

1 cup freeze dried blueberries -I use ***Thrive Life (frozen or fresh will work)

1 cup rolled oats

Drop into mini cupcake pans (silicone best-no oil needed)

Bake at 350 degrees for 20 min

Cool….when serving, drizzle with *California Balsamic Blackberry and fresh blueberries

Very nice with **Local Spicery - Butterfly Pea Flower Tea (It’s blue!)

This is a delicious, healthy, vegan, sos free, tasty treat!!!

Strawberry Oatmeal Cookies

(Vegan, SOS free, GF)

Pre heat oven to 350 degrees

Soak: 1 T. Ground flaxseed in 2 T. Water (set aside)

Soak 12-14 pitted dates in 1/2 cup water (set aside)

In a food processor:

Process: 1 cup rolled oats to a flour-like consistency (pour into a large bowl and set aside)

Process: the soaked dates with 2 T. Of the water/ add the soaked flax seed, pour into the large bowl

In the large bowl, add:

1 1/2 cup rolled oats

1 tsp. Cinnamon (*Thrive or any you may like)

1/4 cup **Joi nut base ( like almond or cashew)

2 tsp. ***California Balsamic - Strawberry or Pear

1/4 cup plus 2 T. Plant based milk (I like **Joi almond or cashew)

Food process the dates with only 2 T. Of the date water

Pour into above mix, adding the flaxseed/water mix

Stir in 1 cup crushed, dry *Thrive freeze dried strawberries (crushed into small pieces)

(You can also add 1 cup finely chopped walnuts, substitute the strawberries or raisins or leave plain)

Using a small ice cream scoop, place on a silicone or parchment paper lined cookie sheets, flatten with a fork

Bake at 350 degrees for 12 min,

Take out of the oven when then look like they are a little under baked, that is the

Secret to a soft and chewy cookie

Place on a cooking rack to cool

Lavender Blueberry Scones

With Lavender Blueberry Spread

Soak 6 pitted dates in 1/2 cup prepared ****Local Spicery - Butterfly Pea Flower Tea -already brewed ——set aside

In a food processor:

3 T. **Joi almond nut base

1 T. Vanilla

2 tsp. ***California Balsamic - Lavender Balsamic

3 T. Ground flax seeds

1 tsp. Baking powder

After processing the above, add the soaked dates with the tea

Pour into a bowl and fold in:

1/2 cup *Thrive Life - Freeze dried Blueberries (The secret to having a nice solid blueberry in your scone that won’t smash)

1 T. Dried Organic Lavender

1 cup of your favorite Gluten Free Flour (My fav is *Thrive Life -Gluten Free flour). If too sticky, add a little more flour

Place on a sheet of parchment paper

Shape into a log, around 12 inches long, flatten to about 1/2 in. Thick, 3 in. Wide.

Cut into 4 in. squares, then cut those squares into a triangle (scone shape)

Place on a silicone lined cookie sheet

Now this next step in important. I have such great luck with my scones when I put the

baking sheet with the scones in the freezer for 15 min. I don’t know why it helps, but it does.

While chilling, pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

After 15 min., place the flash chilled scones into the pre-heated oven.

Bake for 15-17 min, (Check for doneness with a toothpick

Place the scones onto a cooling rack

After cooling, serve plain or with the Lavender Blueberry Spread (don’t spread on the scones until serving time)

Lavender Blueberry Spread

Soak 4 pitted dates in 1/4 cup of prepared ****Local Spicery - Butterfly Pea Flower Tea -already brewed - set aside

In a small food processor:

1 T. Plant based milk (I love **Joi)

1 T. Vanilla

1 tsp. ***California Balsamic - Lavender Balsamic

1 tsp. Dried Lavender

1 tsp. Vanilla

4 T. *Thrive Life - Freeze dried Blueberries

2 tsp. Ground flax seed

Add the tea soaked dates only (saving the tea if needed to thin the spread)

If your thickness is too thick, add a little more of the tea or plant based milk to thin it

Delish!!!!!

Strawberry Chia Refrigerator Oats

(Vegan, SOS free, GF)

In a pint jar:

1/2 cup organic apple juice

!/2 cup water

OR…….1 cup unsweetened almond milk, oat milk or soy milk

2 tsp. Vanilla

2 T. Chia seeds

1/4 cup chopped pecans

1 tsp. * California Balsamic Strawberry Blonde

2 T. **Thrive Life- Strawberries (freeze dried)

1 cups rolled oats

Put on lid

Shake very well

Refrigerate overnight

Wa-lah! Delish!!
